Kitchen window

IMG_2002.JPG I washed the kitchen window last week, the one above the kitchen sink that faces south and overlooks the patio behind the garage.

The windows slide left and right but they also open to the inside to really let in the southerly breezes and springtime fragrances.

Rehabbed house across the street

IMG_1995.JPG Aura's house across the street was sold last year not long after she died. The people who bought it have completely gutted it and rehabbed it from top to bottom, inside and out, working nights and weekends for months.

They intend to put in back on the market as soon as it's complete, which should be soon. Click photo to enlarge.

Curbside recycling vs. online recycling

IMG_1973w800.jpg We've not only been making good use of our curb to get rid of stuff that otherwise might end up in the landfill.

Robbie's been also using a website called Freecycle for items that either don't get taken from the curb or for ones that can't be put out in the rain.

"The Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns."

Yahoo Groups (online discussion lists) are used for communications. There is a Northfield Freecycle group and another one for Rice-Steele County.
